Simple Harry

One advantage of being a Librarian is seeing all the wonderful resources available. I'm a shameless pursuer of self-improvement, and have taken plenty of courses and read hundreds of books over the last several decades.

One of the best I've found is Simpleology: the simple science of getting what you want by Mark Joyner. It's a delightfully fun read, full of solid wisdom and insights delivered with a light touch and cartoons that work for me. (Except for Ziggy, few do.) I resonated most with the one on page 56. A fellow sits on the floor, surrounded by bills, reaching for the phone as a tele-guru says, "You are broke because you don't have the right tools to make you rich." Behind him are shelves full of self improvement books and tapes. I will write more about Mark and his great ideas in future posts, but want to tell you about my involvement with his latest project.

I'm evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they're letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I'll let you know what I think once I've had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it's still free.

It's about time!

I've been HarryTheLibrarian at aol dot com, then at att dot net, and in the search for speed, now at comcast dot net. I maintained a Geocities site from 1996, and a "commercial" website (the quotes because the only commerce so far has been to pay the hosting fees) since 2000.
It's about time I joined the millions smart enough to recognize a better way, and entered the blogosphere. I hope you will welcome me, as I welcome you to my new "place."
